Taxes Forms – Which ones do I need?

I need to file taxes for 2008 and I know I can’t efile but if I go to irs.gov it will allow me to download and print forms.

Does anyone know which forms I will need to file for federal and state in Pennsylvania?

    Not without more information.

But on the federal return it is hard to go wrong with the 1040…yes that means all the additional schedules.

What is the sate form number? I don’t have a clue, not knowing where you live.

    Hope this helps.

The Pennsylvania income tax forms and instructions can be downloaded from:

You need to give more info but don’t know what Mercedes is talking about. The 1040 or 1040 EZ is good info. I have no idea what state you’re in. . .
http://www.irs.gov is good info and you can download the information publications along with the forms. And there is one publication that will take you all through the 1040.

If you are just now filing your 2008 taxes, you will use the same form you would have used last year. If you are filing amended tax returns to correct something on last year’s returns, you will file the 1040X.

If you are single and have no dependents use the 1040 EZ or the 1040A. You can also use the 1040 form if you do have dependents or also if you have alot of deductions.

You can get your state tax forms from the post office, libraries or even at driver’s license offices or even online at your State’s official website.
